Prayer for Helping the Homeless
God, our Sustainer, we come to You this morning asking for Your wisdom on how we spend our money today. Open our eyes so we can see what truly needs to be spent and what we can save for our future and for helping others. Open our eyes and our hearts so that someone who is truly needy does not go unnoticed by us. Help us to see them as we pass them on the street. Put in our mouths the words to say to them to spread Your love. Give us the courage to look directly into their eyes and acknowledge their humanity. Help us to let them know that we do care, and we do see them. All the money in the world means nothing when we leave this earth, God. Your love is all the riches we could ask for. Help us to use our money to further Your love. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
