Prayer for the Power of the Tongue

God of Wisdom, help my husband to understand that life and death are in the power of the tongue. May he speak words that are pure and edifying, and may he speak out the truths and promises of Your Word over negative and problematic situations. Keep him from speaking careless words that reflect a lack of faith and that are harmful to himself and others, for we must all give an account to You on the Day of Judgment for every careless word we have spoken. Amen.
